Gassan spoke first. Daniel grinned at the others surprised responses. She’d already gotten used to Gassan talking again after the trip but obviously the others hadn’t heard him then.

 

“Well we just retrace Daniel’s steps, right? And that will bring us to Imhotep?” he suggested. Pammy nodded.

 

“Well we don’t have to retrace all my steps.” Daniel thought back to his scramble through the underground vents and the tumble into those cattails. He grimaced. “We just have to go back to the bunker.”

 

The group took a deep breath collectively. Jake drummed his fingers on his thigh nervously. He laughed trying to clear up some of the awkward silence. “Well I don’t know how to get there. Lead the way, Danny.”
