Dahlia
Dahlia was there. You were in her house, after all. She wasn’t exactly helpful with the cooking, and neither was her husband, but moral support was more or less a good thing, and it was what they did.
You didn’t mind it. Turns out you were very, very careful with who you let into the kitchen to help you, and they weren’t exactly part of that. Well, it wasn’t too bad.
After all, you let them try out a bit of the batter, though obviously not all of it. And now you just had to wait until the brownies were cooked. One other possibility was getting ice cream to eat alongside the brownies.
Damn, that was a good idea. A bit too late for that, though. Instead of dealing with it, you decided to just watch the oven to see the brownies rising.
“Huh. It’s that fun?” Dahlia approached you, standing by your side and looking at the brownies, just like you were doing. “Because, sorry, it doesn’t seem fun to do.”
“Honestly? It’s a lot more interesting than I thought it’d be.” You said, before shrugging. “I just wonder if I’ll feel the same way once I’m back to being a human.”
There was no way for you to know, so for now, you didn’t beat yourself up over it.
“Probably! I’ve heard about people that returned, and they always kept some of the traits they found out about here. You’ll likely keep yours as well.”
“Really?”
For some reason, you didn’t entirely believe her, but at the same time, it was almost like… she was telling you the truth. It was pretty easy to understand, and you wanted it to be true.
As such, you just… believed in her. There was little else you could say about it, other than yeah, she was right. Well, you wanted her to be right, at least.
“Don’t worry about returning either, by the way.” Dahlia told you, looking right at you as she said that. “It’ll happen when it needs to happen. I mean, I’ve been here for a while, and I almost don’t wanna leave… but I know it’s happening sometime.”
