Tell him the truth
Knowing that you two are alone you don't think it could hurt to tell him the truth.
"I was trying to find a way back to my home. Please let me leave." You plead.
"You won't last a moment out there by yourself, even with the gift of fire. Wait. You haven't used it before have you? I would bet that you've never even seen magic before by the responses I saw in you." He questions you.
"You are probably right," You say, "but I'm not from your world. I don't even know how I got here and the last thing I want to do is to get caught up in a war!"
You feel aggrevated at this point and the fur on your tails puff up in anger.
"I cannot stop you if you want to leave. If there is any way I can help, I'd be delighted."
His smile never waivers and eventually wins out over your anger. The disarming look on his face and sheer sincerity set you at ease. You agree to have him accompany you. He packs his things as you look around for a moment. The dust laden house is full of unused items and unfurled carpet. The owners must have been renovating when they left it. Lerru comes back in the room with a small pack and two guns. "Are you ready?" He asks and you nod, taking a weapon as he hands it to you.
The small sub machine gun seems to weigh almost nothing. “Have you ever fired one before?“ He asks while checking his own and slamming the latch down on the barrel. You nod no. He takes aim at the wall, showing you the pose and explaining the intricacies of firing and loading the small weapon. Once you're confident that you can handle your own with the gun he leads you out the back door of the house and toward the woods. You don't really know where to go but since you're heading to the woods already, the path seems the only way to go.
