Fun
“So, what do you guys do for fun?” You felt that it would be a good idea to ask about other stuff. Maybe there’d be something you three could do together.
And it felt like they took forever to answer you. Or at least… it seemed like that to you.
“Have you ever played soccer?” Dahlia asked. “My husband—Mike, he’s good at it.”
“I was good at it.” Mike crossed his arms, sighing for a moment. “It’s a bit harder to do it now, when compared to before. I’m sure you understand.”
Yeah, what he said made sense. None of you had proper fingers and toes anymore.
Oh yeah, Dahlia had asked about your opinion on soccer. “Uh, it’s kinda boring in my opinion? I was never a fan.”
You were really hoping that something like this wouldn’t be enough to stop them from being your friends. Because, again, you did want to befriend them. All two of them.
Maybe more, but right now, you were focused on these two. They seemed nice, after all.
“Why, it’s loads of fun! I haven’t played in ages, but I loved it.” Mike grinned at you.
He really was trying to convince you to play a sport you didn’t even like. Or at least, that’s how it appeared to you. But you knew your worth, and you weren’t all that interested in soccer.
“Sorry, I don’t think it’s my thing. But hey, I’m sure there’s other things we can do!”
Mike did seem a bit disappointed in what you said, but… it was your opinion, and he had to respect it. If not, then he wasn’t friend material.
Despite his disappointment, Mike still smiled. “Oh, okay, that’s fair. I guess we could binge watch a TV show. That could be fun, don’t you think?”
“That’s better.” Dahlia spoke up first, even before you did. “Yeah, that could be fun!”
