In a room star star star star halfstar

The sign reads

"Welcome all new travellers.

To continue you must go through a series of doors.

After going through you will pick a costume. You will then become a half- human and half that creature.

After a week(100 mins a hour,20 hrs a day,10 days a week) has passed you may morph and get another costume. To start of with you will only be able to become 40% human to 60% human.

If you put on a costume you will then become that creature, be teleported to it's home town and have to wait a week before being able to morph.

After 50 costumes you may change into one of your other costumes and become 30% to 70% human. When changing costumes you must wait at least an hour before you can change costumes again.

100 different species/gender costumes allows you to gender-morph and become 20% to 80% human

200 different species costumes allows you to combine costumes and become 10% to 90% human

400 different species costumes allows you to return to your world with no more morphing

And 800 different species costumes makes a polymorph and allows you to morph outside of this world.

Also if you have a costume like a centaur then the human part will always be human and is counted towards the human percentage.

Any gender/species transformation magic of yours can only change your gender(if you have at least 100 costumes) and the animal part to a different animal.

When you change into a different costume (that you already have) you may teleport to that species home town but you will have the week penalty where you have no costume changes.

If you die while wearing a costume you will be reborn at the local inn (or appropriate location ). If you have more then 100 costumes you will lose the costume you had when you died and go to an appropriate place for your next costume.

If you fail to make it out in 100 years(100 weeks in a year) one of your possible forms will be chosen and you will be permanently stuck in that form(apart from magic) until you die. Also there will be no possibility of going back to your world.

Also, one final note: should you take a female form and become pregnant, you won't be able to change your gender until the child is born, though the other aspects of your form may change (the child will change to match.) That is all, and good luck!

You realise that you have to do what the sign said to do and go through the doors and grab a costume.

Alternatively you could use the key system to determine the room

Air Creatures star star halfstar emptystar emptystar

You find yourself in what appears to be a glass room suspended high in the sky.

The stairs are blocked by a force field.

You realise you have to go through one of the three sky blue doors numbed 1,2 & 3.

What door do you want?

Female Myth Air star star emptystar emptystar emptystar

You go through the door.

All of a sudden it slams shut and with no handle on this side it appears that you are stuck.

There are five costumes in this room, all of them female, all of them are myth air creatures.

Sphinx emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

"Great" you think to yourself looking around at various feminine outfits and costumes all over the wall. "How did I end up in the female room?"

You recall the sign at the start of the complex, and with the only way out is too wear one of the costumes and become the creature. Which means you are now destined to be a girl and some animal like creature.

So what are your options?

A pegasus , a griffon , a phoenix although that one looks like it might burn you before you get it on. A dragon, correction a dragoness, female room after all.

The last one however is the one that strikes your fancy, a sphinx. This one at least is partially human. Still you have no idea how you will fill out the 8 limbs including the wings with just your four.

You reach up and take the costume off the hanger, the other costumes rotating behind the wall , although you suspect if you returned your current one they would return to allow you to make a new choice.

Now how to put the costume on. The zipper runs along the spine of the costume. The open limbs seem to be the arms and legs of the costume.

"Well here goes nothing" you say to the empty air as your legs slip into the empty legs of the costume. Your feet being pulled up by the shape of the paws, leaving you standing on your toes.

The fake front legs of the costume dangle down as you place your arms into the costume as well. You turn behind to see the zipper moving by itself, slowly but not stopping, sealing your body into the costume.

The head is the other part of the costume that needs to go on, standing on a pedestal, mouth open showing of her teeth. You walk over , already feeling like your paws are part of your body, your movement as natural as if you were born with them.

You look into the mirror fearful that this will be the last time you see your face for a long time before putting the head over the top of yours. As the parts meet you feel and hear the seal form.

Pain, that is the first sensation when the changes begin. Your spine feels like it is being pushed down hard, the front legs providing support as you fall forward onto them. The wings burrow into your body new nerves sending messages straight to your brain, every feather feeling the wind as it rushes through them.

Wind? In a sealed room?

You look around and try to move to trace the source of the wind but the front legs are not yet ‘real’ and remain fixed to the floor. However you see the walls of the room fading. The wind seems to be only on your wings though.

The front of the costume begins to hurt quite a bit as you feel bones solidifying in the leg area, the legs becoming long and stiff, unable to be moved until the nerves set in. It is a painful process as each nerve seems to light up as they come into existence.

You feel the costume attach itself around the groin area pushing into you as the change you knew was coming since the moment you stepped into the room and saw the costumes that awaited you.

The opposite is occurring in your chest, your skin is being pulled out into the two balloons on your chest.

Temple emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

The walls of the room now have faded leaving you in a ball of mirrors, allowing you to get a look at your body from every angle as you look around. After getting a good look the room fades leaving you looking at a temple.

As you approach it you feel something between your breasts form and looking down you see a key on a necklace and your top half is naked, your breasts exposed. Strangely while you think you should be worried as that would make logical sense, from an emotional standpoint there is no actual desire or sense of urgency in the need for getting clothes. You quickly become quite content with nudity, after all when was the last time you saw a sphinx wear pants. Truthfully you can’t recall having ever seen a sphinx at all to begin with, but that’s beside the point.

Still if this temple is your home in this world it might be better to look inside in and get yourself knowledge of this world.

The necklace floats up and points towards the wall and as the stone grinds, a opening appears.

Once inside you see a number of rooms, a bedroom , with sleeping area .

A bathing pool continuously refreshed by a small stream

And the prize of the temple?

A library, admittedly small but the knowledge should be enough to get a lead on finding another costume.

Now what first.

Geography emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

First thing, are there any humans nearby, what fun is being a sphinx if there are no humans nearby to ask riddles too.

Of course they ask for knowledge in return but they provide such nice food to stop you eating them.

Looking on your shelves you find a book that describes your local area and apparently there is a large human town just over the mountains.

Modern City emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

You head off, the necklace disappearing when you take off, the flying coming natural to your body. The mountains are steep with no trace of humans until you cross the ridge of one mountain to see a large modern city , glass skyscrapers right to the city.

You also notice a number of runways and planes taking off , Based on how far away you can see your eyes must be improved by a significant margin.

Of course this does mean that when you are flying you have to keep an eye out for planes that could run into you if you are not careful.

Of course this makes things a lot harder, All the vehicles designed for human shaped bodies and you will probably have to walk in the city. It’s a good thing you can fly and have four legs to help keep your stamina up. You find it’s much easier walking around then before.

You spot a park and land in it and look around , not many humans around, maybe they are at work and too busy to risk their lives answering riddles.

Would you be able to walk into a workplace and just ask your riddles? Well they could be busy, but then again, maybe they could use a break.

Of course it is possible you could wait till the come out for lunch, it is not like they will be locked up in those tiny boxes forever. They are humans, not insects, though there are many who are unable to tell the difference.

You look around to see if you can see if you can see anyone through the windows.

Of course this park seems to be surrounded by ancient tall trees hiding you from view.

While you are standing there you hear a voice "hello?" and you look over to see a young women looking at you "You look very different from the rest of us"

"Yes I am a sphinx. Would you like to hear a riddle?" You inquire, tilting your head much like a curious housecat.

"Only if you promise not to eat me if I get it wrong"

"Sure" You say as the thought of asking your riddle more enticing than the thought of a meal. "Which creature walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening? "

She smiles, there is joy in her eyes. A specific kind of joy that humans show when they see something that resonates with their sense of innocence, like watching a young child at play. "That is the traditional sphinx riddle. and the answer is a man"

You frown at the answer and your feline ears lower "Yes..."

"Are you the sphinx from the tales I have researched?"

"No, in fact recently I was human until I put on a costume and well I am now this sphinx."

"I see" the woman says her eyes wide "So why aren't you wearing any clothes?"

"well" you say "I think when I was changed my mind was changed to not be worried about the clothes"

"Would you like to go shopping for clothes? Your chest may need support as well" the girl says.

"Well " you think , the thought of clothes not really exciting you. "I think I might prefer not having any."

"Would you like to try anyway, you may be able to try the riddle to the store clerks"

The thought of telling your riddle to more people wins you over and she heads off waiting to see if you are following her. "Pity you are not the old sphinx. I would have so many questions for her."

"Well I have lots of knowledge if you wish to ask your questions" The mere idea of that someone would even consider an almighty all knowing sphinx as lacking knowledge more more than infuriating.

The Store emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

The walks to the store passes by, the only odd thing is the stares of the people as you walk by. "My flatmate works here, we may be able to get you a good deal"

She leads you into the store and finds her flatmate who comes over to look at you "Do you have any money to buy the clothes?" the flatmate asks.

You tilt your head in surprise as you find this a strange thing to ask a sphinx. "Where would I keep it? I don’t exactly have pockets."

"How did you expect to pay?" she asks you.

"A riddle" you say, grinning as you think of the best brain teasers in your arsenal

"That won’t put food on the table will it" she says.

"I could hunt food for you?" you say "I am a mighty sphinx after all." You show off your mighty wings and pose triumphantly.

The woman however doesn’t appear to be buying it. "...Hunt food?"

"And you could even live rent-free at my temple. It has everything you need. I just need people to ask riddles too. "

They smile "And how far away is your temple?"

"It is only a short flight away"

"And how will we get there? We cannot fly."

"I can fly you there, don’t you worry about details like that"
