In a room star star star star halfstar

The sign reads

"Welcome all new travellers.

To continue you must go through a series of doors.

After going through you will pick a costume. You will then become a half- human and half that creature.

After a week(100 mins a hour,20 hrs a day,10 days a week) has passed you may morph and get another costume. To start of with you will only be able to become 40% human to 60% human.

If you put on a costume you will then become that creature, be teleported to it's home town and have to wait a week before being able to morph.

After 50 costumes you may change into one of your other costumes and become 30% to 70% human. When changing costumes you must wait at least an hour before you can change costumes again.

100 different species/gender costumes allows you to gender-morph and become 20% to 80% human

200 different species costumes allows you to combine costumes and become 10% to 90% human

400 different species costumes allows you to return to your world with no more morphing

And 800 different species costumes makes a polymorph and allows you to morph outside of this world.

Also if you have a costume like a centaur then the human part will always be human and is counted towards the human percentage.

Any gender/species transformation magic of yours can only change your gender(if you have at least 100 costumes) and the animal part to a different animal.

When you change into a different costume (that you already have) you may teleport to that species home town but you will have the week penalty where you have no costume changes.

If you die while wearing a costume you will be reborn at the local inn (or appropriate location ). If you have more then 100 costumes you will lose the costume you had when you died and go to an appropriate place for your next costume.

If you fail to make it out in 100 years(100 weeks in a year) one of your possible forms will be chosen and you will be permanently stuck in that form(apart from magic) until you die. Also there will be no possibility of going back to your world.

Also, one final note: should you take a female form and become pregnant, you won't be able to change your gender until the child is born, though the other aspects of your form may change (the child will change to match.) That is all, and good luck!

You realise that you have to do what the sign said to do and go through the doors and grab a costume.

Alternatively you could use the key system to determine the room

Air Creatures star star halfstar emptystar emptystar

You find yourself in what appears to be a glass room suspended high in the sky.

The stairs are blocked by a force field.

You realise you have to go through one of the three sky blue doors numbed 1,2 & 3.

What door do you want?

You go through the door.

All of a sudden it slams shut and with no handle on this side it appears that you are stuck.

There are five costumes in this room, all of them male, all of them are myth air creatures.

Dragon star star star emptystar emptystar

You grab a Dragon costume.

All of a sudden every other costume disappears.

As there is nothing else to do you put on the costume that you grabbed.

The changes start almost immediately as a mirror appears for you to watch the transformation.

The first thing to happen is your torso bonds to the scales and you can suddenly feel your wings. With a sense of amazement you try them out and hover slightly.

The next thing is your lower body.

You watch as your groin becomes flat. You wonder why and then you remember. All dragon equipment is internalYou wonder why your groin is flat and then you remember that all dragon equipment is internal.

Meanwhile the rest of your body has changed. You have a long tail and your head has changed. You are now a humanoid dragon of approximately human proportions.

First though what type of dragon are you?

You wait for a moment. The glass room dissolves around you, and you find yourself in a mountain range, surrounded by gray, jagged rocks. You could explore the area on foot, or try your wings out.

On foot star star halfstar emptystar emptystar

You're able to easily climb around the rocks with your dragon claws. The mountains seem to go on endlessly, though. Up ahead you see a reddish light coming from one of the peaks. You could also head down the mountainside, and see what you'll find there.

The Light star star emptystar emptystar emptystar

You find that the light is coming from a lava pool. The mountain range must be volcanic!

You look down, and find that a beautiful human-dragoness is sitting on the edge of the crater.

She looks up at you, and smiles. "Are you here to be transformed?" she asks. Your response is...

Yeah! star star star emptystar emptystar

"Yes," you say. What's the worst that could happen? The dragoness grins, graps you by the ankle, and pulls you into the lava pool with her. Amazingly you don't die. You do feel a burning sensation, though. And it gets worse and worse. This was a mistake. You can feel your very self being burned away. But at the same time, you feel something else...your body is expanding, your wings are growing, and your skeleton is reshaping itself.

You're becoming a real dragon. Finally, you manage to pull yourself out of the pit. You're no longer a human-dragon hybrid. You're a full-fledged dragon. And, the dragoness informs you, that's the way you'll be forever now.

Friends Never Say Goodbye... star star star star halfstar

You back away from the fiery dragoness, that smug smile still creasing her scaly muzzle. In her eyes is a look of triumph, of a score, of success; what were the odds the people sent to that costume room would end up in the myth room, then dragons, and would finally choose to be transformed by the dragoness?

You awkwardly stumble outside, the bitter mountain air quickly cooling the remaining chunks of magma rolling off your large draconic body.

It's clear as crystal, now; the costumes change you, and after ten days they'll call you back for another transformation. But agents in the homeworlds are standing by, waiting for you to aquiesce to remain in your form for all eternity. That, or any agreement you make to that effect pulls the plug, cancels the return trip on your ticket, unbooks your reservations back to Freaky Costume Land.

Feeling woozy, you lean against a rocky wall as it continues to sink in. You're done; it's game-over. You're never going back to your warm human bed, to that computer you loved so well, to your family or friends. Unless the dragons' homeworld is actually on the specific version of Earth you're from (which is *highly* improbable), this will be your home now, forever and ever, amen.

...Wow. Just... wow. You recline on the rocks as it sweeps over you like vertigo. McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Hershey's chocolate--gone for good.

She's grabbing your arm now, gently. You rear up and tear free of her grip.

"...You never said it was forever." Your words are daggers.

She only says, "It gets cold out here, even for a dragon. Come inside and we'll talk."

She heads in. After awhile, so do you. Where else will you go now? Thus begins the first day of the rest of your life.

Outside, snow begins to fall.

Dragon Secrets 101 star star star star emptystar

"...You never said it was forever."

The words were spoken minutes ago, but they still seem to hang unresolved in the air between you. The dragoness - who you notice is still kind of anthropomorph, so obviously the lava bath didn't do anything to her - looks sheepishly at you.

"You didn't ask," she says quietly.

You sigh. "Oldest excuse in the world! Though when I think about it, I should have guessed this was something special. I mean, I'm already turned into a dragon, and then you ask me if I want to be transformed! Mea culpa."

Her smile is a bit more hearty this time. "Does that mean you're not mad at me any more?"

"More at myself. And whoever is behind this crazy setup."

"What if they were the same?"

"What?!"

"I mean, what if you had created this place, then when you got out of control your assistants rebelled and made you part of your own project."

"Seriously?"

"No, it's just a theory I have. For all I know it could be me."

"Well, whoever they are they're obviously crazy. Unless I got their timescale completely wrong, they're expecting us to stay around for hundreds of years. How long do dragons live anyway? You said forever...?"

"Sort of. We are not truly immortal. We can be killed by knights, or commoners with the right weapons for that matter. We can get sick, and have accidents..."

"But we don't age?"

"Actually we do, albeit slowly. But then we can do this."

She walks to the edge of the cliff (Yes, I know the last chapter said they went inside but there is no previous mention of a place to be inside, so either assume they stayed outside or that they went out again.), takes a deep breath and leans forward. Searing fire leaps from her open mouth, streaming down the hillside for several times your height. (You notice that even though you are now a full fledged dragon you are still about the same size as the humanoid dragoness. Still some growing to get behind you...) The newfallen snow melts away, returning springtime to the hillside for a few precious minutes.

"That was impressive," you admit.

"Thank you. I think so too. But that's not what I wanted to show you. Watch this."

She repeats her previous performance, but this time the flames just keep streaming like from an oil well on fire. You start wondering where she gets it all from when you notice she's kind of deflating. Her body is getting smaller with less... mature proportions. When the fire stops, a little dragon girl stands in front of you.

Darn. And you had just started liking her to the extent of entertaining the notion of making a pass at her.

"How's that, Daddy?" she asks innocently. Even her voice has changed.

"I'm not your daddy," you protest. "If anything, you're my mommy... Only that won't work now either."

She giggles and hugs you. "You're funny, Dragon Guy! Anyway this is the secret of the dragons. Sorry if I'm talking fast but I have to get this out before I start thinking like a kid. We age like everyone else, but we can unage and be young again. That's how we can virtually live forever. Some say that age is a fire that consumes us all, but only dragons can get rid of the fire and be young again."

"I see, but why not just unage one year each year? This seems a bit... extreme."

"What, wouldn't you like a second childhood? Actually this is my thirteenth. And there are those who go even further and unage into an egg to start over with a new hatching!"

Suddenly a thought strikes you. "Wait a minute!" you exclaim, choking the protesting editor with his own rulebook. ;-) "Didn't you say I'm a dragon forever?"

"Yes, as am I. I'm still a dragon, right?"

"Yes, but..."

"Now look. Before you put on that costume you were a manwoman, right? And long before that you were a little boygirl. What happened? No transformation, you just grew up. Dragons just reverse a natural process. It's a question of to-po-lo-gy..."

She slows noticably at the difficult word. "Okay, I'm starting to have trouble thinking like a grownup. I'll go play now. Your watch."

"My what?"

"You have to watch the pool now. I'm too young. In fact kids aren't allowed on the mountain except right after unaging. Don't worry, it's pretty simple. Just watch the lava, heat it if it gets cold (Be careful though, you do unage a little every time you breathe fire), and when someone comes along, explain things to them - I'm sure you can do that better than me - and give them a hand."

"For how long?"

"Until someone else comes along to take over. Dragons are eternals, so we have a rather relaxed view of time. Seeya!"

She turns to leave when you think of something. "Wait a minute!"
