You are standing by a tree star star star emptystar emptystar

There are 3 paths.

One appears to go to a jungle,
one appears to go to a cave,
one appears to go to a beach,
you could try and climb the tree,
there is a nearby shop you could go in,
or you could do something else.

So what's its going to be?

Adventure Game emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

For a moment, you sit staring at the computer screen. The game loaded so quickly, that now you’re waiting in of an opening screen. The pixels quickly formulate themselves into the backdrop of an open field on all sides of you. The faintest motion of wind rustling the thick landscape of grasses ripples across your vision, but even as the distant landscape formats with the loading page, nothing but the field is there. You shift your head, turning your gaze within the virtual reality of the game to check to your sides, but find only more of the same rippling landscape there as well. The same, golden shade of grass sprouted up from the Earth on all four sides of your body.

Eyebrows knitting together, you try to figure out what is supposed to be happening. “There’s nothing here” you mutter, considering trying to remove the goggles you’d placed on until you notice a selection screen. “Choose your character” flashed as fading white letters in the distant backdrop of blue sky. You read it, though you’re not sure what character to select or even how to do that.

You eyes scanned over everything again, noticing that a sign had been added to the game off to the left, font sketched into its surface: “Random.”

Rather than choose a different species you choose the option that leaves you, you. The screens fade away in a burst of light leaving you on the trail of a forest. Taking a moment you admire how much work was put into the game. Your hands look exactly like they do out of the game. Reaching out you pick a leaf off the tree and admire the way it feels in your hands. You reach up to adjust the headset and only feel your hair. Thinking menu brings up the menu. But there is no logout button. The only tabs on the screen are stats, skills, quests & map. Your stats are:

Strength : 10 Constitution: 10 Dexterity : 10
Intellect: 10 Wisdom: 10 Charisma: 10

Derived:

Mana: 100/100 Recharge Rate: 10/minute
HP: 100/100 Recharge Rate: 10/minute
Stamina: 100/100 Recharge Rate: 10/minute

Recharge Bonus:

X2 when not used for a minute
X3 when not used for a hour
X4 when sleeping

Opening the skill menu you are quite surprised when you see the screen because...

Look around emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

"Great" you say aloud, watching the mana on your screen trickle away. "the game gave me a skill that is bugged"

Looking through the menu you try and find the exit button. Unfortunately the only menu screens you can find are the ones in game. No saving or loading. But the more concerning is their are no help or exit buttons.

Reaching up you feel only your head and no trace of the googles.

Finding no way out you start going through the menus again, learning the interface.

A map screen, that just has an arrow saying "You are here".
An inventory screen, with an empty box.
And your stat screen.

While you are busy looking through the screen, you hear the ding as something else is absorbed.

Absorb has successfully absorbed Unique:Unicorn

Watching your hands, you are quite surprised to see your thumb shift into your hand leaving you with just your four fingers. You also feel a weight from above your eyes. While you don't have a mirror you assume it is a unicorn horn.

Stat Boxes emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

You feel a sense of direction from the horn and look in that direction to see the unicorn walk through a door into nothingness. "Good luck" you hear in your mind as it does so.

The notifications pop up in front of you.

You have discovered your first absorb characteristic. +5 absorb xp
You have discovered your first new species. +5 absorb xp
You have discovered a new characteristic slot. +10 absorb xp
You have discovered your first mythic species. +10 absorb xp

Of course this means you also need to check the results on your screens.

Skill Name: Absorb Mana Cost: 1 Cast Time: 1 Sec(autocast)
Range: Medium XP: 30 / 100

Looking over your new characteristic the most striking thing you see is the Thumbs being in unique:humans.

Unique:Unicorn Physical: Unicorn Horn The unicorn horn will double the mana recharge rate and half the cost of healing
Unique:Human Physical:Thumbs Nothing impressive here, unless you count tool use.

"Does this mean that their are no elves or dwarfs in this game?" you ask to the open air.

Of course their is no response.

Having nowhere else to go you look around before deciding to head ...
