You are standing by a tree star star star emptystar emptystar

There are 3 paths.

One appears to go to a jungle,
one appears to go to a cave,
one appears to go to a beach,
you could try and climb the tree,
there is a nearby shop you could go in,
or you could do something else.

So what's its going to be?

Were-Tiger star emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

As you look at the moon, black and orange fur starts to grow, claws grow, a tail pops out and your ears become cat like. You fall onto 4 legs as they twist into that of a tiger.

You realise that you have been turned into a were-tiger.

The hunt star halfstar emptystar emptystar emptystar

With your new senses you can see through the night as if it were day. You feel an overpowering instinct to hunt, as you need to satisfy the hunger you now feel.

Following the smell of blood, you come to a small clearing with the blood trail from a wounded animal leading into a nearby forest. As you approach the trail of blood you also hear the sounds of small children playing.....

Following the trail star halfstar emptystar emptystar emptystar

Driven by your hunger, you follow the trail of blood into the woods to find the wounded animal that left it. You come to another small clearing and in the moonlight, you see the animal that left the trail, or at least what is left of it.

You hear movement in the nearby bushes followed by a long howl, Obviously you are not alone here.

Dammit Jim, I'm a wizard not a zoologist star star star halfstar emptystar

Suddenly a dog like creature jumps out of the bushes and snarls at you. Studying it briefly in the moonlight you realize that you are facing a hyena.

A hyena. And you are a tiger. Obviously the magic does not care about geography or natural habitats. This has to be another were creature, or a runaway from the zoo. Only there aren't any zoos for miles around.

The hyena seems to have reached a similar conclusion. "Mine!" she snarls. Yes, 'she'. The sound of her voice verifies what your nose has already told you. This were is a female.

And she is not in the mood for a flirt.

A Romantic Moonlit Dinner emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

"Oh yeah? Well, I found it first," you growl. Hunger is making you irritable - or maybe that's just the big cat in you taking offense at what is, basically, a not-so-big dog. Your new instincts don't take kindly to competition. You move closer to the dead animal - which, just to confuse things even more, seems to be a moose - and the hyena snarls at you. "Mine!" she snaps again.

She's smaller than you, but the hyena also looks a lot nastier. You decide you'd rather not fight her if you can avoid it.

"Come on, this thing weighs more than you do." You attempt a reasonable tone, trying not to echo your growling stomach. "There must be enough for both of us." The hyena looks doubtful, and your patience slips slightly. You bare your teeth just enough to show how much larger they are than hers. "Do you really want to fight me over it?"

She hesitates, then seems to relax a bit. Without a word, she walks over and bites into the moose. You do the same. When the hyena doesn't attack you, you decide to take that as an agreement.

The raw meat is surprisingly tasty. Maybe it's just because you're hungry. What you'd rather not think about is why the dead moose is here at all. If you didn't kill it, and the hyena didn't kill it... What did?

The hyena gulps down the meat with the most horrible ripping and slurping noises you've ever heard - although, with no hands, your table manners aren't a lot better. Finally, she lets out a very human belch and flops over onto her side. Her stomach is the size of a watermelon.

"Don't look at me," she snaps, catching you staring. "I'm naked."

So are you, but it probably wouldn't help to point that out.

Now that you're no longer starving, you're free to think about your situation. What exactly is going on? What was in that drink, and how long are you going to stay this way? Who is this hyena?

More importantly, what's that rustling in the bushes?
