While I enjoyed the book and had some uniqueness in it, overall I found it average.
The good points include a range of species and no wolves. Some exploration of the effects of the shape shifting include justice for regenerative people
Bad points, the story is pretty much a standard detective story with very little clues to the real mystery
While I enjoyed reading it, I feel nothing for or against reading the next book in the series
