I was enjoying the story until the ending started. At this point I lost track of which characters was who.
I am not entirely certain why the main human character was listing to the kitsune and did not just tell rhe family what has occurred
When they finally try to sort out the problem and it goes wrong, I liked the new solution as it makes sense in the world
The world building is excellent in that it gives you just enough to know their is a bigger world out their
Overall if it was longer and they fixed the final act this could be a 4 and even possibly a 5
