I gave up about 60% in. The problem is the transformation was only a very small part of the book and came late
From a transformation point of view it spends too long setting up the characters.
For instance the doctor has a chapter about drinking, this does not come into the story after this.
Their is a bit about the daughter not recognizing the change but overall their is nothing to recommend this.
