Another week where the book is not a good transformation book. While the story is good, this is from a transformation POV
Take out the supernatural and you have abused wife fleeing husband. The supernatural feels tacked on.
And while I was hoping for the bloodline to show itself in the present it did not.
A neat touch though is an alternative look at the selkie myth as a cautionary tale for girls
Unfortunately this is the only book I have read this week that even comes close to transformation.
