The Others
A thought suddenly came to Daniel and she snapped her fingers. “Like what happened with you guys at Area 50 after we split up? We never met up with you.”
Jake’s smile faded a tad and he glanced over his shoulder at Gassan who remained silent, his face drawn a little tighter than before. Jake looked back and shrugged.
“We got separated. I don’t really remember much...place was confusing as hell but eventually we found each other again. Then we left. I don’t know what time it was by then but we decided to wait for you. You never showed of course...” he trailed off. He paused in thought for some time, scratching the back of his neck. “Then I just woke up in my bed.”
“That’s it? You didn’t see anything weird?” Daniel pressed. Her eyes danced fervently between Jake and Gassan. Something was obviously off...there was something they weren’t saying but reminded of her own experiences in Area 50 she could hardly blame them.
“Not really.” Jake shook his head decisively. “It was just your typical creepy hallways. Not more than what you would expect of an abandoned military base.”
Pammy groaned. “Well that’s not helping us. At least we know all of us got back home without remembering how. My theory is somebody helped make it that way.”
“Imhotep...?” David guessed hesitantly. Pammy shrugged.
“That’s my best guess.” She ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. “So what now?”
